Below are projects that responded to the Call for Action and try to release UML onto the web. They can help you in bringing your own UML models to the web today, but can also serve as as source of inspiration on how you can help to realise vision of the webUML initiative.
We divide them into several categories which are basically the corners of our Triangle that we believe are required to successfully bring UML to the web, extended with a presentation category.
Presentation
These tools allow diagrams to be visualized online. Presentation is not part of the Triangle because the technology to realize this is already common enough and won't be a blocking issue. These tools can be seen as very simple CASE tools, but fully web-enabled.
brings UML diagrams to the web using the HTML5 Canvas element. Not as a static image, but as a fully interactive and true UML editor. Currently support for class diagrams is available, but more shape libraries will be added soon.
offers a very easy to write DSL to generate images representing UML diagrams. It has support for most UML diagram types and based on Java it can be used in a variety of environments.
is a wiki dedicated to modelling. It wants to become the de facto reference regarding all common modelling knowledge. Need to find a pattern or proven design? TheModelFactory will have the answer.
is an add-in for the popular Enterprise Architect CASE tool, that currently enables exporting EA-based diagrams to the Hosted UmlCanvas Central Repository.
